Carrie DeCastro
Aesthetic Consultant
A Miami native with over 25 years in the aesthetic industry and over 15 years at DermaCare Brickell, Carrie DeCastro is the primary patient coordinator for all services provided at DermaCare. Aside from earning her BA in education, Carrie has received certification from the Dale Carnegie executive leadership program as well as the Ritz Carlton customer service excellence training. Carrie has extensive knowledge and experience in the cosmetic field and is a great resource for answers to your questions. She will act as your personal aesthetic liaison between consultation and transformation, guiding you towards your individualized goals. With her passion and dedication for customer service and a desire to promote self-worth, Carrie loves every aspect of her career. Her other passions include her family (3 boys), her love of thrifting and fashion, and “being a forever Dermagirl” duh! We are blessed and grateful to have Carrie as part of our DermaCare family.
Fun Fact: Carrie works full time at DermaCare Brickell and has a side hustle as a fashion reseller where she sells fabulous clothing at her online Ebay store Dust&Glitter.
Maribel Cervantes
Body Contouring Technician
Maribel is our spicy Columbian Dermagirl! Mari started her career in Miami at Palmetto Hospital in 1997 where she worked as a Physical Therapist Register. She continued to follow her dream of helping people feel better through healing therapies by becoming a licensed massage therapist and medical assistant in 1999. Mari spent the next 6 years working at a spa in Coral Gables and Bal Harbour offering massage therapy. In 2006, she began working with the founder of DermaCare Aventura, Dr Juan Castillo where she assisted him in his surgical procedures, treated patients for post lymphatic drainage/massage and became certified in cellulite reduction therapy. Maribel joined the DermaCare Brickell family in 2007 and has since become certified in laser hair removal, electrology and skin tightening procedures. Maribel is our Medical Assistant as well as laser and cellulite technician. We value her experience and dedication to our patients.
Fun Fact: Mari is the first DermAbuela (Grandma) and loves to show off her salsa/cumbia moves on the weekends!
Heidi Huaman
Laser Technician and Aesthetician
Originally from Bermuda, Heidi has been working in the skin-care industry for over 16 years and has worked at DermaCare Brickell for 11 years. Heidi moved from Bermuda to Atlanta, Georgia in 1999 where she attended the International School of Skincare and graduated in 2004. She continued her education at the Rocky Mountain Laser College in Denver, Colorado where she graduated in 2007. In 2008, she moved to Florida and attended the Florida College of Natural Health. During this time, she gained knowledge and experience in all aspects of the skin. Heidi has earned certifications in laser hair removal/skin rejuvenation, aesthetics and electrology. We call her “Handy Heidi” because she is a jack of all trades and can fix almost anything. Heidi is most passionate about skincare and many have claimed she gives the best facial they have ever experienced.
Fun Fact: This Dermagirl also has a degree in Art Visualization which explains her meticulous nature and attention to detail.
Yuni Medina
Nurse Practitioner & Certified Aesthetic Injector
Yuni Medina is a Nurse Practitioner and certified aesthetic injector. She has been a part of the DermaCare team for over 14 years and has trained closely with Dr Michelle Barnes. Yuni has a passion for facial cosmetic injectables and anti-aging/regenerative therapies.
Yuni received her master’s degree from Chamberlain University and is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She also completed her clinical training at the Cleveland Clinic of Florida. She is certified in cosmetic and anti-aging procedures including neuromodulators, dermal fillers, IV therapy, and plasma treatments for skin and hair. Yuni has also been trained by Julie Horne and has developed her own modified Russian lip filler technique which has become a popular request among paitents. Yuni is enthusiastic about new and innovative treatments in the aesthetic field and her passion is a natural extension of our commitment to excellence.
Fun Fact: Like a true Derma Princess Yuni likes everything sparkly and pink…including diamonds. She is also a die-hard Peloton cyclist and her favorite instructor is Kendall Toole.
Eddie
Office Coordinator
Eduarda “Eddie” Pinto
Eddie is originally from Río de Janeiro, Brazil. She grew up in South Florida, attended the Art Institute of Miami and has been in the Aesthetic and healthcare industry for over 15 years. Eddie has worked in customer service with high-end clientele servicing Miami’s most elite establishments which has given her a special edge in our office. Because of her level of experience working in high volume businesses, she has a unique ability to problem solve and come up with smart solutions to almost any challenge quickly and efficiently. Eddie works as our administrative director and front office coordinator assisting our clients with planning and bookings as well as managing the flow of the practice.
Fun Fact: Eddie has an obsession with “The Office” has been known to quote it often and also works after hours as a wardrobe model for Carrie’s online thrift store.
